In this project the students explored the possibilities to make RCN Holiday Park ‘Het Grote Bos’ more sustainable. A wide variety of topics are covered, including energy generation and savings, water collection and consumption, material use, food forests, visitor travel modes, and sustainability certifications. However, the main body of the report focuses on sustainable interventions that have some level of guest involvement and interaction. By focusing on visitor involvement, sustainable interventions can also be an attraction while improving the image of the park and educating the guests. Visitorr–involving topics include efficient lighting design, rainwater collection, water consumption monitoring systems, reusing and treating greywater, food forests, permeable landscaping, and visitor travel mode.
